Rebecca, so much to enjoy and think about in this article, especially the points about how we have a narrow definition about love and how when we are forced to we reevaluate what it means to be alive.

I had noted with the recent passing of Bell Hooks she was an author I needed to read, now even more so having read your article. I am coming to terms with the understanding that life is so much richer if you practice and learn to keep your heart open.

Thank you for writing and sharing such an informative article. I am sorry and please accept my sympathies for the passing of your friend.

For me this sentence particularly stands out as something to define and live by. "An acceptance of myself in that moment, bereft, yet aware that my experience of the world was richer for having loved." It reminds me of the famous quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson about love and loss.

Jesse, thanks as always for your compassion and the time you take to read and comment. You are clearly on a similar journey to me and see the importance of loving practice as a tool to live better, write better, uplift, etcetera!

Always great to hear your thoughts and I am looking forward to read more of your writing too.

Take care,

Rebecca
